Rich is one of those arty types who always takes the best pics has the best fancy dress outfits and just generally does stuff with style so when he said to me do you fancy putting together an MTB "Distinguished Gentlemans Ride" to go with his motorbike one I said hell yer.
Thats about £60,000 in real money! Massive thank you to everybody who contributed and showed support for the project! The first leg was funded by the people. When the passion became clear Go Outdoors stepped up!

I ride my bike about 4 times a week, which is great but then I have to clean the bloody thing. Some bike geeks love this part of the job but not me. I'm a massive fan of Seb Kemp's article 'I hate bikes'. That's how I feel; it's mountain biking I love and the bike is just the vehicle that enables me to enjoy it.
Blue Steel Conditioning was set up by Nick Hamilton (of This is Sheffield fame) and Adela Carter, with the support of Dave Hemborough and Podium Performance of Sheffield Hallam University.
I had a Dakine Nomad for a long time and I loved that bag. I know I shouldn't, but I get really sentimental about well trusted kit. They hold a lot of memories for me, a bit like an old friend. When it finally gave up the ghost (the zip broke) I thought "What the bloody hell am I going to do now?". I think on the whole, rucksacs are over-engineered. They don't generally fail and you don't need a million pockets. I just want something that does the job with easy access and looks good. We all know it, if you're buying a newie, it's got to look the part. You have to find the bag that really defines your riding (ha ha ha ha). EVOC's cool, I'm cool, I'm into freeride and I ride trails...win.
For years I was told by high end cyclists that running and cycling didn't mix as they use different muscle groups and riders develop un-required bulk. This I have decided is a load of rubbish unless you're already in the top end of racers and becomes less important when looking at downhill and gravity enduro riding.
I have heard the name Laggan Wolftrax for a while but only recently made the trip. It's miles away nested up in Scotland, spitting distance form Avemore (20 min). I have heard "Ooo Laggan's harder than normal centres" and "Don't take it lightly".
Cy Turner has been busy and is ready to announce an exciting idea which could become a model for funding new trails all over the country.
